Renovation and Extension Close to Completion in Cockermouth, Cumbria

Buttermere Close, a renovation and extension project in the quaint market town of Cockermouth, is nearing completion.

The project involves the construction of two extensions to a 140m² two-bedroom home – one above the garage and another extending into the garden – as well as converting the loft, increasing the home's internal floor area by over 85m².

The client also wanted to improve the home's energy performance, therefore an MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) system, air source heat pump, and solar panels have been installed. Additionally, insulation levels in the floors, walls, and roof have been upgraded, and the existing doors and windows have been replaced with high-performance, triple-glazed units.

Internally, the home has been reconfigured to create a modern and open-plan kitchen and dining area that benefits from an abundance of natural light flowing through large glazed sliding doors. Two additional bedrooms, a study, and a playroom have also been created, enhancing the home's functionality and comfort.
