Modest Barn Conversion Complete in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park
The Bield, a modest 70m2 barn conversion nestled in the scenic Scottish landscapes of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park has recently been completed, boasting a double-height, open-plan kitchen-dining-living area, along with a large picture window with striking views of Beinn Mhòr mountain.
The previously dark and neglected barn sat in disrepair, tucked into the northwest corner of two homes that form an L-shape configuration - one of which belongs to the client's father. The client's brief was to transform the barn into a two-bedroom home whilst making it feel brighter and more spacious.

The 50m2 floor plan was divided in two, with a twin bedroom, bathroom and utility area with a mezzanine primary bedroom above occupying the eastern side, and an expansive, double-height kitchen-dining-living area accommodating the west. Both the living area and mezzanine bedroom are open into the vaulted ceiling with large roof lights that allow plenty of light to flood the home whilst also creating a sense of connection and openness.
Finally, a sizeable 2.1m square, picture window adorns the west facade, permitting not just natural light to flood the space, but also offering panoramic views of the lush garden and the Beinn Mhòr mountain in the distance.
