Who we are
forma architecture is led by Timothy, a professional architectural designer with over a decade of experience delivering residential projects across the UK, Europe, and the US. He has worked in award-winning practices in Cornwall, London, and San Francisco, and holds a Distinction at Master's level and First-Class Honours at Bachelor's level from the School of Art, Architecture and Design in London – the highest grades achievable.
Timothy's background sets forma apart. He trained first as a carpenter, working on homes across Cornwall before pursuing architecture – giving him a rare understanding of how buildings are actually put together, and a genuine appreciation for craft, material, and detail that carries through every project he works on.
What we do
We offer a full architectural design service – from initial consultation and site analysis through to concept design, planning drawings, and planning submission support.
Every project begins with understanding what you want to achieve and what the site allows. From there we develop and explore design options, refining the proposal until it's something you're confident in and ready to submit for planning permission. We prepare all planning application drawings, advise on planning strategy, and support you through the full submission process – whether your project is in Cornwall or elsewhere in the UK.
We work with homeowners and landowners, offer clear fees and straight advice at every stage, and follow the RIBA Plan of Work to keep the process structured and transparent. Technical and construction drawings are also available for projects that require them.
Portfolio
We work on residential projects of all sizes – extensions, barn conversions, contemporary new builds, single-storey homes, annexes, and renovations – from early concept and feasibility through to planning permission and construction drawings.
UK projects include work in Cornwall, Bath, Leicestershire, Cumbria, and Scotland. Further afield, we've worked with clients in Europe and across the US, including Texas, California, and Vermont.
No two projects are the same. Every design is shaped by its own specific context – the existing buildings, the trees, the access, the orientation, the light, the views, the materials. Each one is considered individually, from the first conversation through to the final drawing.
